The Supreme Court may have the longest seating Judge in the United States and can make rulings on cases that can potentially challenge other cases and or laws. Article III of the Constitution establishes the federal judiciary. Although, initially, there was seating judges of five and now 9 after the Civil War.

The roles of the Supreme Court shape our entire governments at every level. The decisions are made base on checks and balances and ensuring that the fundamental values for all Americans that relates to freedom of speech, freedom of religion and due process of law, which brings us to the Roberts Court.

John G. Roberts Jr. is the United States Supreme Court Chief Judge. Former President George W. Bush nominated him to be the Chief Justice in September of 2005. There has been an issue in Roberts Court involving abortion, the Second Amendment, free speech, the rights of terrorism suspects, criminal defendants and a host of important constitutional and social issues.

Sandra Day O'Connor was appointed by a Republican President, Ronald Reagan in 1981, as the first female Supreme Court Justice and retired in 2006 (Lowen, 2018)

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was appointed by a Democratic President, Bill Clinton in 1993 (Kelly, 2018).

Sonia Sotomayor was appointed by a Democratic President, Barack Obama in 2008. She was the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice (Lewis, 2018).

Elena Kagan was appointed by a Democratic President, Barack Obama in 2010. She was the second female appointed under the same president (Murse, 2018)

The impact that the appointed females have on the judicial philosophy of the Roberts Court is liberal views and may be too far left. This may lead the liberal judicial philosophy as the Constitution is open to interpretation, which supports laws that work toward a progressive spectrum of ideas, relating to civil rights, personal choice, and the separation of church and state. Although Sandra Day O'Connor retired, the current members display their feminist and libertarian.

A Gallop survey showed the approval rating of the Roberts court at 18% of Republicans, which is an all-time low. Two landmark decisions, one whose majority opinion Roberts penned, favored left-leaning policies. This was relating to the Affordable Care Act and same-sex marriage.

But in my opinion, this is what the Justice system to be biased on all incident, despite his or her political party. I believed all judges should be biased to a certain degree.

For example, no one would want a racist judge of any race to place a ruling on a different race because he or she does not like the skin tone; but on the other side, you do not want a judge ruled pedophile as discrimination.
