Peer Collaboration

Throughout this class you will use this forum to gather information on two cultures intended to be used for your Final Project. The list of cultures, including recommended resources, can be accessed through the Library Resource Guide. You will investigate various aspects of your two chosen cultures each week and this work will constitute the basis for the Final Cultural Comparison Project. For more details, you are encouraged to study the instructions for the final project. Your instructor will not participate in the discussion directly to allow free engagement amongst peers, but will give you feedback in the gradebook.

For the first week, introduce your two cultures providing basic information: location, size, language, dominant religion (if any), language(s) and ethnic composition.

Part of your Final Project will be submitted using YouSeeU. To familiarize yourself with this software, you will submit your initial post as a link to a YouSeeU recording. To learn how to use YouSeeU, click on the YouSeeU User Guide. Provide one to two slides and two to four minutes of narration. This is an opportunity to experiment with the software, with slides and oral presentation, so that you become confident before submitting your Final Project.

Guided Response: Respond to at least two peers. Ask one question about their chosen culture that you would like to know more about. Try to politely and constructively address it if a peer has not fully embraced a concept or has somewhat misunderstood it. For your peer responses, you will respond within the discussion forum. You will not use YouSeeU for peer responses.
