The average age of RNs in the Operating Room is 58. It takes 9 months to train an RN to become a perioperative nurse. Moreover, MDs are used to working with certain RNs. Clinical errors often occur when new members of the OR team are added. You tell the CNO that you will come up with a plan to insure proper OR staffing with optimal clinical quality in two weeks.
