For this assignment, you will watch a one documentary and write a self-reflection essay on the topic it covers.
You can choose between watching one of these three videos over Environmental Ethics topics:
Food Inc. (explores the food industry and treatment of livestock)
Black Fish (explores the ethical debate over keeping wild animals in captivity for entertainment)
Anthropocene (explores the impact of humans on the planet)
Your self-reflection should be two to three pages long. It should be written using college-level writing skills, double spaced, and in 11 points Arial or Tahoma font. Keep your writing concise and avoid run-on sentences. Be sure to spell-check.
Paragraph 1: Explain what lead you to choose this documentary. Share what you knew about the topic before watching the film.
Paragraph 2: Briefly summarize what environmental issue the documentary discussed and explain how it relates to business ethics.
Paragraph 3: Provide a quote from the film that made you think or challenged your ideas about the topic. Provide who said the quote and the minute mark at which it was said. For example, you might write, "At 3:23 of ''Company Town'', employee Hazel Parker said,"...."
Paragraph 4: Discuss a person or story from the documentary that made an impression on you. Why was what you learned interesting or meaningful to you?
Paragraph 5: Has your attitude or beliefs about this topic changed since watching the film? Will you make any behavior changes in response to watching the film?
Paragraph 6: What is a practical step your classmates could take to impact this issue. If the step involves contacting someone or volunteering then provide relevant contact information they could use.
