4. Were there any patient management plans developed by your preceptor that surprised you?
5. Were you able to "teach" your preceptor anything?

Clinical Competency Checklist Goals
Goal I: One of my goals for this week's clinical is to see a woman for contraceptive management. I would like to become more familiar with the contraceptive options available and discuss them with patients.
Goal II: Another goal for this week's clinical is to see a woman for management of PCOS. I would like the opportunity to create a treatment plan for a woman with PCOS.
Barriers and Opportunities
Barriers I anticipate are no women presenting to the clinic with concerns about birth control or with PCOS. Many women will reach out to a gynecologist for women's health issues and may not see their primary care provider for these concerns. Women may also lack confidence and comfort in asking their provider about concerns related to women's health. Therefore, it is important to build trusting relationships with them and make them feel comfortable enough to open tip to a provider.
Opportunities I anticipate are a variety of well women visits on the schedule this week. Well women visits provide the opportunity to discuss concerns related to birth control, PCOS, and sexual health concerns. These visits are an opportunity for the patient to open tip and voice their concerns about issues they might not otherwise mention during an office visit. Another opportunity is that sexual concerns can be questioned and addressed in any chronic illness management visit as well. It is a great idea for a provider to include sexual health questions in their routine visits with their patients.
