Fatphobia prejudice can manifest in various ways, such as weight biases that can negatively impact health outcomes. Doctors may often attribute all health issues to a patient's weight without conducting thorough examinations. In some instances, doctors also make inappropriate comments or assumptions about a patient's lifestyle based on their weight. Society needs to become more aware of and sensitive to this form of discrimination. Addressing weight bias as part of these broader efforts toward inclusivity and fairness is essential. Fatphobia could potentially lead to preferential treatment, perpetuate healthism, and prioritize weight loss as the ultimate goal of treatment, regardless of the patient's actual health needs.
