A typical home circuit is diagrammed in figure 23-16. Note that the lead lines to the kitchen lamp each have a very low resistance of 0.25 Ω. The lamp has a resistance of 240.0Ω. Though the circuit is a parallel circuit, the lead lines are in series with each of the components of the circuit.

1) Discover the current to the bulb.

2) Discover the power dissipated in the bulb.

3) Calculate the equivalent resistance of the circuit consisting of just the light and the lead lines to and from the light.

4) Because the current in the bulb is 0.50 A, the current in the lead lines also should be 0.50 A. calculate the voltage drop across each of the two leads.
