1. A shipping company is shipping cargo by truckloads. The number of miles per gallon the truck averages goes down as the weight of each load goes up.

What is the relationship between the miles per gallon and the weight of the trucks' loads(which variation describes the data)? Direct, Inverse, Direct as nth power, Joint or Regress

I first answered "direct" and was told that is wrong. Can you help me understand the most appropriate choice?

2. A solid metal object is dropped from an altitude of 14,400 ft. Not accountng for air resistance, what is the velocity after 10 seconds?

3. A certain machine requires a combo of two brass fittings. If the two are to fit together, the measurement of each must fall within two standard deviations of the mean.
