Digital health applications range from consumer health apps that people use to monitor their own health to wearable devices that can share clinical information with their provider. Digital health technology can be used by medical providers to support clinical decisions.

As the IT director of a large health system, it is your responsibility to provide periodic updates on new and emerging digital health opportunities, particularly as they relate to the promotion of population health. For this assignment, you will critique one of the following case studies and report to the board of directors of your health system. You will create an animated short explainer video to communicate to the board and provide a critical analysis of the advantages and challenges of the HIT application and/or service. Include in your analysis the role of digital health in improving population health outcomes and how you would advocate for and promote the use of digital health. Provide examples of how the use of IT applications improves quality of care and patient safety.
