Francesca Spitler is a 75-year-old Orthodox Jewish woman who had a stroke 4 days ago. She has a decreased level of consciousness but is able to communicate when asked questions. She is unable to walk or move independently. Her vital signs are as follows: HR 110/min, blood pressure 140/65 mm Hg, temperature 39°C (rectal), and respiration rate 16/min. She has a nasogastric tube in place. Her condition is stable, and she is located in a progressive care unit. She is receiving oxygen at 2 L/min through a nasal cannula.
