Question
Tony is a 48 yo divorced White Male, who is currently a single father of his 14 yo son, David. When Tony was ~8 yo, his father, who had been an inconsistent figure in his life, was murdered by a rival drug dealer during a visit with Tony. Tony was soiled during this incident, and often feels "I've never been clean since that day." Tony developed a strong fear that he was contaminated, and would wash his face multiple times a day, up to several hours daily, to try to alleviate himself from the worry that he was "tainted" in some way; Tony would often experience skin cracking and bleeding on his face from these frequent washings. This often kept Tony from being able to hold a "traditional" job, as he would often get fired for taking multiple long breaks throughout the day, or for leaving entirely when he began to bleed. Tony was able to maintain a job cutting grass with a friend, but this was a seasonal job only, and he continually had to stop to wash his face with a garden hose. Tony knows "I'm not there anymore, I'm not back in that place anymore", but often gets flashbacks to the day of his father's death, hearing the gunshot and smelling the aftermath. Tony often does his best to avoid talking about his father and his death, though David has been asking about it more and more, particularly as he becomes more aware of Tony's patterns of washing his face. Tony often worries for his son, feeling that "the world isn't a safe", and wondering if "I'll do something that gets my son hurt, like I did my dad." He's constantly on the lookout for other dangers, particularly when out with David, and struggles to sleep "more than 4 hours a night" due to fear of nightmares and general restlessness.
