PART 1:
We are nearly finished with the course. Think about the major technological breakthroughs we've covered (and haven't covered) this semester. Remember that a pencil is a form of technology; we tend to think only of electronics when we see or hear the word.
Examine your textbook, search the web, and look at the timeline (link provided below). Once you've done this, choose what strikes you as the THREE most important breakthroughs in history, and describe why.
PART 2:
Briefly discuss your relationship with the different types of mass media you studied this semester (magazines/advertising, newspapers, books, film, the internet/social media, music, television, and video games).
You can write about your familiarity with these media, your experiences and habits with them, which ones you like and dislike, how your habits have changed over your lifetime, etc.
What insights in this course have been most significant for you? Do you feel like you are more media literate after taking this course? How so?
The expectation is a thoughtful, reasoned, and well-written response that demonstrates a high level of critical thinking. As always, please pay attention to writing mechanics.
Word Count Requirement: 750 Words (more is welcome!).
