The class is divided into nine groups. Each group is asked to research a different developmental theorist ( Havighurst, and Fowler). Each individual in your group should select a different case from the viewpoint of your assigned developmental theorist:

- A mother of a hospitalized 6-year-old boy expresses concern to the nurse that her son is regressing.

- Parents of a 13-year-old boy express concerns to a school nurse about their once-model son's rebellious behavior in school and at home.

- A successful 33-year-old businessman has a heart attack and expresses anxiety about the meaning of life: "All of a sudden I'm wondering about my priorities...I'm not married, and, until now, all I cared about was making money."

- An independent and active older adult becomes severely withdrawn and uncommunicative on admission to a long-term care facility.
