The 1984 film Amadeus won 8 Academy Awards. This film illustrates the life of W.A. Mozart and his music. The story is based on some truth; however, the plot is fictionalizes elements to embellish and entertain. Please read the following webpage under the Web Links before viewing the film.
Students may gain access to the film through Youtube, Netflix, your public library or local video store. Also, the main Limestone College campus library has the movie on reserve. You are responsible for finding and watching the film.
After watching the film, students must submit a two-page paper (no less than 500 words) about the events and music of W.A. Mozart. This is an open-ended assignment. Open-ended meaning you may write about any aspect of the film. Some ideas might include: what, if any, message was the movie trying to portray? How does the title Amadeus fit the movie? (You will need to look up the meaning of Amadeus). How does the music fit the movie as a soundtrack? ETC...
