"Annie had an assignment due for her history exam. She was supposed to write about an event in American history that had impacted her family. Part of the assignment was to interview a family member and then write about what she had learned. She reached out to her grandmother, who she remembered having mentioned something about working on the ERA. Annie wanted to learn more, so she went home the next weekend from school and sat down to interview her grandmother about what she had done related to the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and why she had participated.
