Argument: According to Duhem's contrastive underdetermination problem, no rational decision can be made between two scientific theories. Since Lakatos' theory of scientifc change allows a single science to entertain multiple scientific theories at the same time, he can solve Duhem's problem; whereas Kuhn, who only allows for one paradigm at a time, cannot escape it. So, Lakatos' view is better than Kuhn's, at least in this one respect.
