The nature and pattern of child development is quite different from adult development. What are the general differences between child and adult development? Explain why they exist in terms of social and biological clocks? What is the difference between primary and secondary aging? Give an example of each type of aging? What is the problem with studying averages in adult development? What is the problem with studying one population and then applying it to all humans?

Use Levinson's research on the "midlife crisis" in support of your answer. According to recent research (specifically Small & Gage, Tornopolsky), how is physical exercise related to the aging process? Be specific. According to the research by Robert Sapolsky (Baboons), how is stress related to the aging process? Again, be specific. From the course material describe two specific and distinct pieces of advice (other than physical exercise) you would give for preventing secondary aging. Be specific, support your advice with specific theory and/or research.
