Ten men and 10 women were given the supplement daily for a month, then the amount of weight each person lost was determined. A significance test was conducted at the α = 0.05 level for the difference in the means of the number of pounds lost between men and women. The test resulted in t = 2.178 and p = 0.03. If the alternative hypothesis in question was Ha: μm - μw ≠ 0, where μm equals the mean number of pounds lost by men and μw equals the mean number of pounds lost by women, what conclusion can be drawn?
