Discussion

Robert George said that growing in ethics, or training our emotions, is a paradox. No one can do it for you, but at the same time you cannot do it on your own. Communities and groups can be important for helping us act in an ethical way. Group members must, however be intentional toward one another to this end. Today, many of the groups in our society that should be helping us live ethically are in disarray.

The video was very powerful. Ethics is part of what we are taught the difference in good and bad behaviors. Knowing that we all have choices it is up to us to do the right thing. We must first make up our minds to do the right thing or that with is morally right. It must be our choice. But it is also important to be surrounded by people or groups that have positive inputs in our daily lives. Being around positive influences will subconsciously effect our way of thinking. Therefore, we need people or groups to help us act ethically but it still must be by our free will and choice to act ethical this is paradox.
