The basic difference between a successful project and an unsuccessful project is the impact the project has on the organizational goals and objectives. A successful project will be having a positive impact and boosting the goal and objectives to quite an extent and on the other hand the unsuccessful project may delay the success of the organization to quite an extent. There are various reasons based on which the project may succeed or fail and the most important of this is the project efficiency, that is the result of the project based on the requirement specified and the higher the efficiency will display that the requirement is generally met to quite an extent. Again the impact of the project as discussed needs to be positive so that the project is successful and this positive impact states that the business objectives of the organization are taken care off. If the organization is quite successful then the future planning of the organization becomes simple and that is nothing but making the objectives better for the betterment of the organization but a failure will make the organization lag behind and it becomes difficult for the organization to deal with such a situation.

Very good point in order for organizations to grow forward they must first succeed with projects that move the company forward. By not following through on projects it can but an organization in a place they really don't want to be. So with that in mind that should be the companies goal to follow through on projects with steps in place to do so.
