Gaps can occur in knowledge, skills or practice. Steps in Performing a Gap Analysis Identify a NEED (Health Problem) by conducting a Needs Assessment (should have accomplished this via Windshield Survey) Identify if the gap based on knowledge, skill or practice? Then identify what is the BEST PRACTICE in the literature How does research address and support your community, health need or gap? Discuss best practices to close the gap.
