  • Did your observations tell you anything about the nature of teamwork?
  • This will apply to sessions where you have observed a group teaching. In these cases, what did you observe about how the group worked as a team? Did it seem like a series of individual teaching elements or a joined-up activity? How did having different group members contribute to the structure of the session? Was there a leader?
  • Without phrasing it as personal criticism, did it seem like one (or more) members of the team were more involved than others?
  • How was the session evaluated?
  • Did the session factor in any evaluation of any aspects of the learners' experience? If so, how did it do this? If so (or if not) what evidence is there of the learning attained?
  • Do you think the methods of evaluation were meaningful? Did they relate to the objectives of the session, if there were any? Would there be methods of evaluation you can suggest which might be applicable for the teaching you observed?
  • Do you have observations about the accuracy of the teaching content?
  • Raise any questions or concerns you may have about the advice you've observed around a skill or procedure. Say if you think the advice or factual content is inaccurate or misleading in any way. Was this a matter of evidence being out of date, or not from a useful source? Or was there something about the clarity of the presentation that made the learning ambiguous? Be prepared to support this with your own research and evidence. While there won't be another teaching session on this module, the session teachers will receive your anonymised feedback and this may help in developing their practice. All skills and procedures are likely to have new and interesting areas of discussion and controversy and you are welcome to share any perspectives you feel are relevant.
  • What reflections do you have? How did the session benefit you? You might consider commenting on aspects that worked well, and which you would consider incorporating into your own practice or teaching. As you're a learner in the session yourself you can directly say how it made you feel, and whether there is specific learning you can take away and apply to practice.
  • Did I observations have a more general application? Can you make links between the teaching you have observed and how nurses might behave in practice?
  • For instance, in terms of evaluating learning, or communicating?
