The exploration and settlement of Kentucky by Europeans was a process that occurred overnearly half-a-century. From the days of the long hunters through the establishments of forts and stations to frontier towns and cities, there were many challenges and obstacles for settlers toovercome. Based upon the reading for this course in A Concise History of Kentucky, compose an essay ofat least 500 words (you can write more if you need to do so) that describes and analyzes the process and history of the European settlement of Kentucky. You should cite specific examples of individuals, towns, challenges, travel routes, and any other pertinent information that will add substance to your essay.
In your essay, you must include a discussion of how the two individuals' stories contained in Running Mad for Kentucky either support or contradict the general story of the European settlement of Kentucky.
