Question: Ticks are ectoparasites that carry many pathogens that cause multiple tick-borne diseases both in animals and humans. In order to identify the tick pathogens, and understand their abundance and diversity, a metagenomics approach is to be employed to shed light on the microbiome of ticks in South African cattle. This is because this approach is very powerful to reveal even the unculturable microbes.
