TOPIC: The Ending of the Transatlantic Slave Trade

During this module, you will submit an annotated bibliography for your Final Project to the appropriate dropbox. Before beginning the bibliography, please examine the full Final Project assignment details.

Your annotated bibliography should include at least three outside sources in addition to the course readings (assigned books, articles, films, etc) you intend to use and Voyages: The Transatlantic Slave Trade Database .. In total, your annotated bibliography should include about six to ten sources.

Unlike a traditional bibliography which simply lists your sources, an annotated bibliography explores why you intend to use particular sources for your research paper in an annotation under your citation. Each annotation should be placed under the appropriately formatted citation and should be approximately one to two paragraphs (200-250 words).

You should format your sources in APA

YOU ARE NOT COMPLETING FINAL PROJECT. IT'S JUST A REFERENCE FOR THE BIBLIOGRAPHY

The Final Project is a comprehensive assignment that spans most of the term. To complete this assignment, you chose a topic related to the Transatlantic Slave Trade and, during this module, you will submit a research paper.

The paper must address an issue related to the trade, such as gender, regions of the Americas importing slaves, regions in Africa exporting slaves, the economic impact of the trade on either Europe or Africa, or culture, to name only a few. You are encouraged to consult with the instructor for advice on conducting independent research and selecting a topic.

Begin with a review the full-text language of your Final Project assignment.

During this module you will submit your Final Project research paper of 8-10 pages (2000-2500 words) to the appropriate dropbox.

Your research paper should include:

An introduction to your topic, including your thesis statement

A body of several pages that develops your thesis and includes supporting evidence from your primary and secondary source research, including the Voyages database

A conclusion that synthesizes the information and ideas you have presented and provides your conclusions

In-text citations in APA

A complete reference page that includes both your outside sources and any course materials you used

The Final Project should be 8-10 pages (2000-2500 words) not including the title page and references, and double-spaced. Sources should be cited and referenced in either APA or Chicago/Turabian format.
