You have decided that the most efficient way to come up with ideas is to work as a team. Explain how your team would go through EACH of the 5 stages of team development to show a successful advertising campaign.

2. Assume that you own and operate your own business, and that you employ approximately 50 people. You want to hire the best-qualified people that you can find. Explain how you would attract, develop and maintain these employees.

3. Read the following scenarios and explain which of the following 5 contemporary organizing trends it adheres to and explain why:

Adam is the CEO of a small online clothing company. He has come to the realization that the company would save money if he were to cut out some of the middle management positions. He realizes there are too many supervisors in-between upper management and lower management. He has made the decision to have only two members of upper management (himself and the CFO), and one manager (middle management) per department. Jackie is a supervisor at Security Solutions Inc., an insurance company that caters to the elderly and retired.

There are many departments in the company, and there is one manager for each department. However, as an insurance representative, Jackie deals with many types of claims, including (but no limited to) accident and injury claims, life insurance claims, car insurance claims, mortgage claims. Because of the wide variety of cases that Jackie deals with, she must correspond from the manager from each of these departments. As a result, Jackie is familiar with all the upper management members within Security Solutions Inc. Waverly & Co., an architectural consultation firm based in Chicago has started managing their office in a new and contemporary way.

Francis Daley, the current president, decided to revolutionize the way in which the company manages itself. Instead of utilizing a tall management structure, the company works in small or large groups and manages themselves on a project-by-project basis. This means that throughout the year, the employees will work in different group setting with various individuals throughout the company. It also means that the employees have wider range of control, even though there is still a team of upper management.
