1. The description provides the guidelines for the paper: Experiment Exploration Paper (100 points). This assignment is asking you to find, read and summarize an important research article concerning at least one important study in psychology. You will be expected to not include all ideas, but only main ideas, from the article(s) assigned and you will get some experience and practice with using APA style.

2. Task:

Read through the entire article, including the abstract, and extract from it the main ideas of the article. Consider the research article's impact on the field of psychology; in other words, how does it apply to what we have been talking about? All of the articles are considered to be instrumental in the development of what we have come to know of Psychology today, so think about that when you are writing about the main ideas. It's not JUST the main idea of the article itself and the research that was done, but the main idea that applied to the field of Psychology. Essentially, you will want to answer:

- What did the researcher do; why

- What did the researcher find; how

- Why is this research article considered an incredibly important study?

- How did what was found in the research apply and influence psychology?

- Does the study (procedures, questions, findings) still apply?

- How could/should the study be replicated today?

- What are your impressions or opinions concerning the article findings? Do not literally answer these questions as a bulleted list or as the headings for your paper, these are just questions to consider when writing your paper. You will write a paper of at least 1,000 words and no more than 1,250 words, answering these questions and providing a summary of the research article.

3. Writing:

It is okay to use "I think, I feel". Include an introduction and a conclusion about the paper as a whole. Have an organized paper with clear thesis statements and supporting sentences in each paragraph. Appropriately cite/quote the article used (and any others if consulted) in-text o Use APA to do in-text citations Grading Grading will be based on the following elements: Technical Requirements ? Quality of writing o Well-organized, grammar, spelling, syntax and sentence construction ? Typed, meets the length requirement of 1,000 words and is no longer than 1,250 words of content (does not count name/course/title/citation info). Content Requirements ? Appropriate summarization of the research article without copying from the article ? Conclusion of the article is clearly discussed as to findings and significance in the field of Psychology ?
