How known mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance could affect the development of new antimicrobial drugs.

This essay title was aimed at discussing how known mechanisms of microbial resistance could affect the development of new antimicrobial drugs. Whilst there is some attempt at describing and classifying known antimicrobial drug resistant mechanisms, there is very little content that addresses the actual essay theme. There is no link, understanding, description or augments of how these resistant mechanisms can affect antibiotic discovery and development. There is lack of deep understanding of the AMR crisis and shortage of new antibiotics to the market. The author states that they will describe "alternative ways antibiotic resistance can be tackled, aside from drugs, state which is more effective, and why?" but I could find no good examples

In the text and certainly no specific case studies to follow up on this statement other than repeatedly pointing out negatives such as that regulatory requirements are too expensive or that "newer screening methods for potential compounds, have not been successful" or over use of antibiotics is common. It would have been better if this essay had discussed and critiqued new approaches and why they have they not been successful and particularly related this knowledge to known mechanisms instead of just listing them.

The arguments are thus poor, conclusions limited and the subject matter mainly irrelevant or not well addressed. This means that the structure of the essay is not coherent, and the conclusion is poorly
