Knowing what content is needed provided some surprises, and there is general agreement that this needs list was lacking. There is also general agreement that it is important to understand how data are currently managed before steps can be taken to improve ECM.
Toward this end, the ECM consultant has determined the next step to be an evaluation of the company's current information infrastructure and content management processes. A more detailed list of required content and the tools used to manage this content will also provide a solid foundation for future ECM planning.
What information should be included in this type of detailed evaluation? Assignment One of the first tasks in the development of an enterprise content management manual is to evaluate the enterprise information infrastructure and content management processes.
The enterprise information infrastructure and content management processes consist of the data and how they are collected, managed, and stored throughout their life cycle. For this assignment, you will conduct an in-depth evaluation of the enterprise content management infrastructure and content management processes in your selected organization.
If the organization already has an enterprise content management system and formal content management procedures in place, you will document the existing system and procedures. If there are currently no formal ECM system or content management procedures in place, you will document the informal parts of the system that exist.
The following are the project deliverables: Update the Enterprise Content Management and Data Governance Policies and Procedures Manual title page with a new date and project name. Update the previously completed sections based on instructor feedback.
