Scenario:
You are tasked with developing a social responsibility strategy for a client. This is an important assignment as business organizations large and small, domestically and internationally, address issues of sustainability and social responsibility. To be sure, twenty-first century business practices will demand nothing less from companies seeking to add to their triple bottom line (people, planet, profit).
The strategy you develop should include a focus on environmental considerations, sustainable business practices, ethical decision making on the part of the leadership who will implement your plan, and should also be in compliance with all government regulations that affect the industry.
For this task, you will select your client from your actual place of employment, a local small business, or a well-known public company.
Note: Any information that would be considered confidential, proprietary or personal in nature should not be included. Do not include the actual names of people, suppliers, the company, or other identifiable information. Fictional names should be used. Also, company-specific data, including financial information, should not be included but should be addressed in a general fashion as appropriate.
Task:
Note: Your submission may be in a variety of formats (e.g., report, multimedia presentation, video presentation). If a multimedia presentation is selected, speaker notes should be used to include the necessary level of detail.
A. Develop a social responsibility strategy for your chosen client which includes a minimum of three recommendations for each of the following components:
1. Environmental considerations (planet)
2. Ethical leadership considerations (people)
3. Organizational viability considerations (profitability)
4. Legal and regulatory considerations (compliance)
Note: Each recommendation should be specific to your chosen company, rather than a general discussion of the topic. For each recommendation, discuss how the company itself can improve in that area. The suggested length is 2 pages of content per prompt for an average total of 8 pages.
Note: This may be a strategy for the company's current product line or service and current business objectives, or it may be a strategy that recommends a new direction for the company.
B. When you use sources to support ideas and elements in a paper or project, provide acknowledgement of source information for any content that is quoted, paraphrased or summarized. Acknowledgement of source information includes in-text citation noting specifically where in the submission the source is used and a corresponding reference, which includes:
• Location of information (e.g., publisher, journal, or website URL)
