Denise is a new manager at the Royal Espresso coffee shop. After her first week on the job, she found that sales and productivity were both down from the month before. She has been trying to think of ways to motivate her employees, so she did the following: 1) set up a new recognition system to identify good performers—their names will be put on a plaque that is placed in the break room, and 2) developed new productivity goals.
