1. Extend knowledge of idea generation to contemporary 3D design.

2. Integrate key concepts into knowledge of 3D theory.

3. Apply given tools and methods accurately and carefully in new situations.

Context:

This assessment is designed to develop your skills in architectural visualization, and ensure you have better understanding how lighting and camera work in the 3D environment.

Instructions:

1. You are required to produce a digital environment in 3D Studio Max.

2. You are required to trace provided .dwg file as floor plan.

3. The space will be incorporated with the architecture elements from weekly online exercises 1-4.

4. Create a daylight and artificial light study of a provided space. Observe how lighting affects the shadow and definition of the objects. You are required to create 4 clay renders to record the development of the lighting in yourscene.

5. You will experiment with applying materials commonly found in the built environment to the objects.

6. Choose the lighting option which can light up your object and the space in the best way. Create a minimum of 4 high resolution rendered perspective images of your space using Mental Ray.

7. Create a pdf presentation in InDesign or PowerPoint.
