Scenario
You have been appointed as the new manager of Pesto's Restaurant. Your team consists of four part-time front of house staff on a roster, two full time kitchen staff, and two part-time kitchen staff on roster.
As restaurant manager, it is your responsibility to provide information and training on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) to your staff.
You have decided to conduct an information and training session to ensure your staff are aware of their rights and responsibilities when it comes to WHS.
To assist with the session, you have decided to develop three information hand-outs, which you will provide to and discuss with the staff.
You would also like to consult with your staff to identify further training needs for Work Health and Safety, as you believe that this is a key area for training, particularly for new staff.
Task A
Develop three simple WHS information handouts to be provided to, and discussed with staff at the information and training session.
The handouts must:
- be clear and concise, no more than one (1) page;
- well research and accurate in presenting WHS policy and legislation information;
- use simple language that considers social and cultural diversity, and avoids culture specific and colloquial slang;
- consider race, religion, culture, age and disabilities when referring to any examples;
- use appropriate sized fonts and present well-formatted, grammatically correct information
- use a consistent layout and style across all three
