As an HR Manager, your company has asked you to write an employee handbook. You are almost done, but you want to make sure you are covering all the laws and regulations. There are over 180 laws alone from the DOL, seven from the EEOC, and let us not forget about OSHA and Safety! How about North Carolina laws that affect employment?

The organization has 20 full-time employees, and you want to ensure the policies cover all employment laws that are required, provide training of management and employees, and that the organization has protocols in place for grievances.

Locate the laws that apply to your organization and provide the following information:

(1) List the laws that will be included in the employee handbook based on the size of your organization and provide a BRIEF explanation of each.

(2) Provide a detailed plan for creating the handbook (ensuring the laws are covered), specifically how you will recruit, select, compensate, train, and develop the employees based on these laws, and provide protocols for grievances, etc. Again, I don't want you to create a handbook, but explain what will go in the handbook and how you will incorporate these laws into your labor practices.
