Ensure your policy includes the following: Rationale including the impacts of child abuse and neglect on the wellbeing of children; Outline - purpose, scope, responsibility, definitions, relevant legislations and standards, related organisational policies and procedures, policy status and review; The role of educators in supporting children and families; Prioritise experiences of child when supporting needs, rights and interests of the child; Discuss the guidelines and key features of collaborative practice in child protection; Implementation based on National Principles as shown in the template; Communicating and responding appropriately to children and families (Principle 3); How to make a report in your state of territory (Principle 1); Apply effective safe work principles and self-management strategies.
