Prototyping and Product Development
In today's highly competitive market, the key is to gain a deep understanding of the target users' needs (Problem-Market Fit), leverage these insights to identify opportunities (Problem-Solution Fit), and develop relevant new products or services to meet those needs (Product-Market Fit).
As we have seen throughout the course Prototyping and Product Development, validation plays a pivotal role in mitigating risks associated with the development of new products or services. Conducting user tests (the iterative cycle Prototype-Test) serves as a means to validate assumptions and assess the appeal of a new value proposition among the target users. It is about validating that they prefer your solution over all alternatives.
User tests can occur at different phases of the product or service development process and requires different forms of prototyping. During the initial phase, they focus on validating assumptions concerning the target users' needs. In the later phase, the emphasis shifts to validating the solution and its key features.
In your own start-up, organisation or for an hypothetical project, what are/will be the primary challenges you (might) encounter when developing prototyping for user testing for new product or service development (you may choose one phase or several phases of the product or service development process)? And how do you intend to address and overcome these challenges?
