Wave Trading Cards

SPS9. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information to explain the properties of waves.

  1.  Analyze and interpret data to identify the relationships among wavelength, frequency, and energy in electromagnetic waves and amplitude and energy in mechanical waves.
  2. Ask questions to compare and contrast the characteristics of electromagnetic and mechanical waves.
  3. Develop models based on experimental evidence that illustrate the phenomena of reflection, refraction, interference, and diffraction.
  4. Develop and use models to explain the changes in sound waves associated with the Doppler Effect

Your assignment is to create trading cards for the following wave behaviors (see table below)

For each trading card, the terms AND a picture illustrating each type of wave/behavior should go on the FRONT. The BACK should include a definition and an example (the example cannot be the same as the illustration provided).  You can create physical trading cards and submit pictures, or use the format below to submit them digitally.  For the waves of the electromagnetic spectrum instead of a definition, state how the waves energy, frequency, and wavelength compares to the wave before AND after it.
