Problem
Write an analytical personal narrative that responds to the following question:
To what extent has your education enabled and/ or limited you for success?
To sustain a discussion, tell your education story. All stories have beginnings, middles, and ends. Frame your story around the chronology of your schooling. Use description and narrative techniques to structure and sustain your storytelling. Use the narrative, reflective, and descriptive techniques we've been studying to showcase your storytelling. Use details and vivid images to bring your story to life. Breathe life into your story and bring your reader into your experiences.
In addressing these questions, do the following
1) Implement two authors we studied (Mike Rose, Malcolm X, and Mark Bowden)
2) Make connections between personal life experiences and your textual support from the authors so the two sources (your reflections and the articles) are not separate but blended.
3) Use specific examples to support your claims
Requirements:
1) Implement two authors from Unit 1 (Mike Rose, Malcolm X, and David Bowden) to support and develop your analysis
2) Develop a limited thesis statement/ claim that announces the topic and expresses your attitude toward it in response to the question
3) Write an introduction that represents your claims and highlights your thesis
4) Develop discussion paragraphs around sub-points expressed in topic sentences
5) Conclude in a brief paragraph that expresses the significance of your discussion
6) Write a precise and innovative title
7) Proofread for mechanical errors, such as fragments, comma-splices, run-ons, etc.
8) Blend quotes that illuminate your ideas.
