A marketing manager wants to know if the sales of the company will increase if he increases the advertising budget. Here, the manager would like to know the nature of the relationship that may be established between advertising and sales by testing the hypothesis: "If advertising is increased, then sales will also go up."

From the above mentioned example, attempt the following questions:

1. Define the problem statement, write research objectives and research questions

2. Identify other variables e.g., moderating and mediating, draw a theoretical framework which should be composed of one I-V, one D-V, one Mod-V and one Med-V

3. Develop directional hypothesis as per your theoretical framework

4. Suggest research design for this study
