Teachers need an assortment of formative assessments to check for learning during instruction and summative assessments to check for mastery. In their assessment planning, teachers understand that when students are involved in the assessment/feedback process, student outcomes tend to improve.

The 5E instructional model focuses on the way students interact in the classroom. For this assignment, you will build upon what you have learned about this model through your completion of the previous topic assignments in which the "5E Instructional Model Template" was used. Based on the Next Generation Science Standard and learning objectives you focused on in the Topic 2, 4, and 5 assignments, use the "COE Lesson Plan Template" and the "Class Profile" to create a lesson designed to meet the needs of the students in the classroom. Utilize ideas generated on the completed "5E Instructional Model Template" to inform this assignment.

When creating your assessments, include at least one formative or summative assessment that is technology-based.  Ensure that the assessments clearly align with the standards, objectives, and learning activities in the lesson plan.
