Software Requirement Specification for "Abctutors E-learning"
1. Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to document & develop an online tutoring website that will allow the tutors and students to communicate with each other for live session on integrated whiteboard, to get the homework &assignment& access to solution library and uploaded study material. The document describes that what all functions are needed in the website and how they should be implemented according to the customer needs. The aim of this document is to provide a path where designing and development could be done with best and latest technologies.
2. Scope
The scope of the project is to develop an online tutoring website. The website will allow the students & tutors to get registered on the website and avail the services. Visitors can access public forum and see other details but in-order to book classes or to purchase from solution library they will have to register/login over the website. There will be no payment or subscription for registration. The website will also have the public forum where any user of the website can post the questions and answer for that question. The public forum will be managed by the admin.
Students can search tutors and filter the search. There will be various filters available on the website to filter. In case of online classes the student will schedule an appointment for a class on the basis of the available time slot of the tutor.
There will be 3 different plans in the system- hourly, monthly & course wise. The student can book classes by selecting any of them depending on their requirement and course. The student will escrow the amount for the online class. The escrowed amount will be withheld with the admin's account. Once the student takes the class, the money will be credited to the tutor's account. The tutor can withdraw that money anytime. The minimum withdraw amount from the account of the tutor will be $100.Once the tutor confirms the class appointment will be scheduled and the notifications will be send to both student and tutor. In the availability calendar the time slot for the tutor will be booked so it will not be available for any other student in future. At the time of live session a white board will be connected that will allow the students & tutors to communicate with each other. Students & tutors can write anything on the white board that can be viewed and replied by other partner in discussion. In both cases, online classes and assignment/work completion, the student will be able to share his feedback and can also rate the work as per his experience.
