Case Study

Background:
ABC Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. is a manufacturing company that specializes in in vitro diagnostic rapid test kits. The company supplies antibody, rapid antigen, PCR, and fast PCR COVID-19 tests, and also offers tests for dengue, influenza, syphilis, and hepatitis A, B, and C. The company currently has an inventory system that is outdated and inefficient. The company has contracted a consultant to upgrade the inventory management system of the company. This project aims to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance. By implementing an advanced inventory management system, the company can enhance inventory control, streamline procurement processes, minimize stockouts, and optimize inventory levels. This project will focus on designing a customized inventory management solution tailored to the specific needs of the biopharmaceutical industry. The team at ABC Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. cannot agree on the best methodology for building this

system. The managers at ABC Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. want to make sure the advanced inventory management system is performing as expected after the upgrade. Managers from the finance team also want to ensure there are no cost overruns.
