Assessment- Observations/Written Report

Part A

You are to prepare for and make 2 different presentations to the group on a topic agreed to by your assessor.

Your preparation should be in the form of a detailed session plan, and should use visual aids where appropriate.

You need to prepare for this session, so take the time required and make this a great presentation.

You are required to hand in your preparation notes at the time of your presentation.

One presentation must include using a computer-based program to develop an audio-visual presentation (PowerPoint or similar)

Your presentation topics may include other unit topics you are undertaking as part of the course - to present a report on related knowledge, such as:

- Way that adults learn (aligned with delivery units)
- OHS in the learning environment
- Rules of Evidence / principles of assessment (aligns with assessment units

Each presentation is to run for 20 minutes. Presentation Attendance sheet is required to sign off from both speakers and the audience at the end of the presentation.

Part B

Now that you have completed your presentation, you are to review your performance. Research what others thought of your presentation, and spend time reflecting on your performance. Consider what you would change / improve and why. Don't forget to talk about what went well.

Present your findings / review in the form of a written report, and submit it to your assessor. This report should be approximately 1 page per presentation.

Examples of reasonable adjustments • providing additional time for student to practice the assessment tasks • presenting questions orally for students with literacy issues • asking questions in a relevant practical context • adapting machinery and equipment to make it more easily used • presenting work instructions in diagrammatic or pictorial form instead of words and sentences • simplifying the design of tasks It is the responsibility of each assessor to assess students' needs and make whatever reasonable adjustments are practicable to maximise a students' opportunity to demonstrate their competence. In the event that a student is currently working in a suitable role (outside their studies), assessors may also consider contacting students workplace supervisor to assist in the development of reasonable adjustments to the assessment requirements of this unit (if approved by the student)

Wherever possible, trainers/assessors will make reasonable adjustments to training and assessment processes to ensure all people are treated equally in the training and assessment process. Students who have special needs may be allowed reasonable adjustment at the time of assessment in line with the Focus Learning Policy and Procedures. To meet the needs of all learners' adjustments can be made to the way assessments are conducted but not to the requirements of the assessment. The purpose of these adjustments is to enhance fairness and flexibility so that the specific needs of students can be met.
