The operation department of a company estimated below workforce requirements for their services for the next 4 periods. The company uses a level

Each worker puts in 600 hours of regular time per planning period and can work as many as additional 100 hours of overtime. The company pays Regular -time wages of $ 7,500 per employee per period for any time worked Up to 600 hours (including undertime). The overtime pay rate is $ 40 per hour over 600 hours. Currently 40 employees work for the company. No delays in service, or backorders, are allowed, hiring cost per employee is $ 7,500 and layoff cost per employee is $5,000. 

Develop a workforce plan that uses the level strategy, relaying only overtime and undertime. What is the workforce level that minimizes undertime? What is the total cost of the plan?
