Dissemination Strategies
Foster Opportunities for Cross Project Information Sharing.
Disseminate information via regular scientific outlets; through peer-reviewed journals; local, statewide and national meetings; scientific webinars (be specific, with what agency and how many).
1. Deliver formal tailored presentations to community clinics, healthcare providers, and the public health community (including faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, government organizations, schools) (Name as appropriate) reporting back on the latest findings from our research.
2. Disseminate to Key opinion Leaders/Policy Makers: We will coordinate twice a year briefings for policy and decision makers in local district offices of California Legislators, City Council Members, the Los Angeles Mayor's Office and other key opinion/ policy and decision makers.
3. As information becomes available, we have identified specific community and academically based organizations that will work with our investigators on disseminating critical information to focused audiences.
Enlist support of main partners in this dissemination effort. For dissemination to scientific and academic audiences, we will support the traditional academic dissemination through peer-reviewed journal manuscripts, attendance at local, state, national and international conferences and meetings.
1. Example: Dissemination Activities - Knowledge Transfer to multiple audiences (academic community, community at large, policy makers).
Dissemination activities will be conducted to meet the needs of various audiences.
Academic Audiences: A series of four webinars via the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) (See letter of support) are anticipated. In addition we will participate in local, national and international conferences and NIMHD meetings with other Centers of Excellence, to present information related to the Core's activities throughout the life of the Center. Knowledge Transfer for Community Audiences: We have partnered with the California Tobacco Control Program via the California Department of Public Health and its 61 local lead agencies (county health departments), and their respective coalitions (in Long Beach, Pasadena and Los Angeles) (See letters of support) to do XXXXX. Among the activities for knowledge transfer we include regular presentations (XXX presentations are anticipated ) to various community audiences.
