Assignment: Health Educating Web Design Application
Project: Web application Development
Project specification
Web application development is the creation of application programs that reside on remote servers and are delivered to the user's device over the Internet. A web application (web app) does not need to be downloaded and is instead accessed through a network. An end user can access a web application through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. A majority of web applications can be written in JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and HTML5.
Web application development will typically have a short development life-cycle lead by a small development team. Front-end development for web applications is accomplished through client-side programming. Client refers to a computer application such as a web browser. Client-side programming will typically utilize HTML, CSS and JavaScript. HTML programming will instruct a browser how to display the on-screen content of web pages, while CSS keeps displayed information in the correct format. JavaScript will run JavaScript code on a web page, making some of the content interactive.
A database such as MySQL or MongoDB can be used to store data in web application development. Web applications will have a large amount of information that may contain mistakes, so the testing process for web applications tends to be more in-depth than other forms of software.
Based on an instructor driven authentic problem, students will work individually replicating a design/development studio. Students will be asked to design projects which address an authentic need for a web application that is related to health informatics domain. Through the process of concept development, creation, and development of the web application, testing and debugging the web application will be applying collaborative skills to synthesize ideas and technical skills to create the "app" and conclude with individual presentation of their application design.
Authentic Scenario:
Student idea development and concepts will be driven by an authentic project which represents a need in health promotion or health education.
In the case of this project students are asked to
1.	Students should consider the user needs, context, and content in the completion of the project.
2.	Students will create a fully functioning web application which addresses health and wellbeing.
3.	Develop a web health application for any aged between 15 to 65.
4.	Students will apply their knowledge of web design, interface design and information architecture to create web apps which serve its consumer.
5.	Students will present the cumulative project to their classmates and describe their creative and development process.
6.	Connections to authentic needs should be made in the presentation.
Project Outcome:
For this web app you will create a basic web application which has a minimum of 10pages. Each page should have a header containing the name of the app and logo image, a navigation bar that contains all thelinks which directs it back to the home page and the important pages of the web application and a footer containing all the links of the navigation toolbar.
Design Components of This Project:
1.	CreatingPages: These will be the separate areas to add content and navigate between.
2.	Adding Graphics: These will be original images or pictures which can be added to the application.
3.	Making Button: This is an action we can add to a graphic to send the user to another place on the timeline or web link. Students will use the Buttons contained in the web-based app development application.
4.	Integrating an Information Architecture: This is the organization of content intended in the design of the web application.
