Review the CBM Project Scoring Rubric at the end of this document for requirements in your Focus Learner Description

Include all information required in the Focus Learner Description
o Grade level and type of class (e.g., inclusion, separate)
o Demographics (age, gender, EL, free or reduced lunch)
o Exceptionality (e.g., LD in math)
o Strengths and challenges (academic, social, functional)
o Expressive and receptive communication skills

Activity 1 Requirements: Select one of the following five case studies for your CBM Project. Develop a two to three paragraph narrative section for your project that includes these details about your focus learner. You can copy and paste the case study and simply add any missing information if you wish. These are designed to be used in your projects.

• Focus learner demographics (age, gender, grade level, EL, and family income status, if applicable), including exceptionality, characteristics (strengths/challenges), expressive and/or receptive communication skills

• Present level of performance, IEP goals, and benchmarks for the focus learner

• Identification of a learning target in mathematics that aligns with present level of performance and objectives/benchmark.
