You are the vice president for operations
Your company has experienced a high number of on the job injuries by the night shift.
You decide to stay over and observe how the night shift operates
You witness two employees racing down the hallway, encouraged by the shift supervisors and their employees.
Your first impulse is to fire everyone, but backed off after it was explained to you that previous management supported this type of behavior as a way to occupy employee's time while waiting for shipments to arrive.
The supervisors explained that they did not since they received no training on dealing with employees or what else to do while waiting for shipments.
The supervisors stated that this was a way of keeping morale high. But, that the injuries were not part of the nightly races.
