2. FOR THIS QUESTION asks you to reflect on your observations, opinions, insights, and conclusions regarding what you have learned so far regarding the key Sustainability, and Survivability issues facing the local Small Business you have been learning about. Before posting your initial response to the questions below regarding sustainability, you will want to have completed your interview with your Entrepreneur/Mentor. Please address the following questions:

• What are the 3 or 4 key issues you feel are important to address regarding the long term survivability of the company?

1. The owner of the company doesn't Brand the company yet.

2. No Marketing strategy. He only uses flyers

3. Economic Uncertainty - The owner doesn't want to teach other to do the work. He is afraid that if the train someone that person can open his/her own business.
• How did your Entrepreneur's assessments of factors affecting survivability differ from your assessment? He feels that Branding the company will be beneficial . And maybe find a different way of marketing that it's not too expensive. He still hesitant to delegate tasks to other people.
• Were there any survivability factors you learned about in the interview you conducted with the owner/manager you hadn't considered prior to this last interview? Yes, customization - His services are customized to the need of the client. Not one fee fits all. Depending the amount of time, he spends working the numbers and the time of accounting is who he determines the fees.

3. FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT- focuses on developing a Small Business Sustainability, Survivability, and ongoing Maintenance Plan for the local business you have been interviewing. The plan you will develop and submit by Sunday of Week 4 must address how you and the Entrepreneur/mentor agree that he or she can insure that his or her business can survive for the next few years? After researching the subject of small business survivability, you should have an extensive list of factors affecting the survivability of a small business, including: catastrophic business interruption incidents, major economic downturns, shifts in consumer demand, the loss of a key individual, a computer system crash, a loss of financing, significant legal issues. There are more factors that affect the survivability of a small business that we will leave for you to discover in your reading assignments.

Your assignment for this is to develop a sustainability plan.
• Read the materials in the Lessons section (Reading & Resources)
• Do some additional research on survivability and ongoing business continuity factors
• Develop a comprehensive list of questions to present to your Entrepreneur/Mentor
• Conduct an interview with your Entrepreneur/Mentor. This should be done in person if at all possible. If a personal interview is unworkable, Skype, email, or a phone call me be used instead.

2. Can you create alliances with other business? - He has some alliances with two attorneys. But not with other accountants.

4. Why you don't use you other type of marketing beside flyers? He doesn't want to spend a lot of money on advertising to avoid raising the fees to clients.
