Topic Selection and Thesis Statement
Select a research topic that interests you and for which you are sure you can find sufficient empirical and theoretical literature to develop a strong thesis statement.
Develop and submit a written topic selection statement in which you justify the relevance of the topic to the field of human services, state your professional and personal interest in the proposed topic, and present specific learning goals related to the course goals listed on the course syllabus.
Include a clear, well-crafted thesis statement that will guide the development of the final paper.

Annotated Reference List-
The annotated reference list must begin with the presentation of a valid thesis statement. Next, it should list eight peer-reviewed articles from scholarly journals or books that appropriately support the topic and thesis statement, are listed in alphabetical order, and have two major components:
1. The complete citation of each reference source, presented in APA format.
2. An annotation of each reference source that includes a brief written description and evaluation of the source(approximately 200-250 words) together with its relationship to the project topic and thesis.
Annotated Outline
The detailed annotated outline presents all major sections of the paper, including an introduction that contains a valid thesis statement; annotated descriptions of each section, including a conclusion; and citations for the reference sources that will be used in each section of the paper.
It must present a valid thesis statement for the final paper and justify the relevance of each section to the project thesis. Within each section, identify where reference sources will be integrated into the final paper and describe how each integrated reference will support the related points in the section. Summarize how the main sections or points of the written project relate to the course goals listed on the course syllabus.
Attach your revised annotated reference list (initially submitted during Unit 3) at the end of the outline.
Rough Draft-
A rough draft of the final project paper is due in Unit 8. This must be a complete draft, with in-depth content for all areas as positioned in the annotated outline component submitted earlier, plus a title page, abstract, and table of contents.
The abstract must include a description of the topic, the thesis statement, and a summary or overview of the paper. The draft must be 13-15 typed, double-spaced pages including the reference list; however, the page count does not include the title page, abstract, or table of contents.
